Day #20

"...beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called." Eph 4:1

There is a very important concept underlined and bolded in this verse. God is speaking to us all the time, constantly calling out to us His children (it could be in the still soft voice, a vivid dream or vision, maybe even through that person who sits next to you on the tram everyday). The point is,

ARE WE RESPONDING?

Much more important than merely training our eyes to see and our ears to hear, is conditioning our body to receive and respond in the right attitude. What good is listening and seeing when we do nothing about it?

As mentioned previously, any relationship must involve two-way communication!

God to us through the Holy Spirit, and us back to God through prayer.

God can do all that He can by nudging us every now and then, but ultimately up to us, (for He gave us free will) to choose, whether to respond or not to. It may seem really elementary, but I think learning the right manner to respond in is crucial and fundamental to our spiritual growth and in our personal walk with God.

And in order to slowly but surely work our way towards the potential that God has prepared for us by planting us in this land, why not search ourselves today, and pinpoint the areas in our lives that God has been sowing seeds in, and respond to those them, watering and nurturing them, until they bloom and mature.

Prayer : Dear Lord, we seek Your forgiveness for often neglecting Your call in our lives. We repent for ignoring Your voice, for choosing not to respond or to respond in the wrong way, or even to avoid choosing altogether. We humbly pray and ask that You set us aflame for You once again Lord, that our passion for You and Your ways. We pray, too for Your discernment, that we may answer Your calls with a fire for You, in the right frame of mind, spirit, soul, and body. All this we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen.
