Just been busy busy busy.
Anyways finishing up the second round read through of Ephesians today, Chapter 6 here we go!
"..with good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men." Eph 6:7
Sometimes I feel we need a wake up call.
Our lives are a massive routine, day in, day out. Between juggling our responsibilities (school, work, family etc), handling the limited time given to us each day, and managing everything else (stress, anxiety, worries, struggles) - we barely have time to think! It's just reacting to one thing after another, almost mindless in the way we go about our schedule.
Some may argue that having no fixed schedule helps. It just means you spend way more time thinking about what to do next or spend your time procrastinating, doesn't it? We are creatures of habit and emotion, by nature - we tend to do what we have always done all the while, or do things which we feel like doing. Ends up pretty much the same way. We do too little, and start worrying about what we could do more, and the cycle repeats itself.
Stress only births more stress.
At the end of the day, one really can't help but wonder. Who are we serving? God? Or man?
No man can serve two masters. Period. It's either one or the other. Forget self-justification (I'm serving God THROUGH man); forget secondary goals (I'm serving man SO THAT I CAN serve God); forget ambiguity (I think I cam serving God, yes that must be it); forget denial (How can I be serving man when I know I should be serving God?) -
SEARCH YOUR HEART.
Taken a good look at our spiritual selfs in the mirror lately? Afraid to see the truth? I know I am.
Prayer : Dear Lord, our hearts cry out to you this day. Come and heal us, come and save us once again. Our ignorance and foolishness have once again led us away from You. Teach us Father, to learn Your ways, and to live our lives purposefully. And let us not be discouraged by our failures and inabilities, but may we be empowered by Your mighty promises and Your word! All this we ask in the name of Jesus. Amen
